Consultant Urogynaecologist

Background

Ms Mittal Patel is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and clinical lead in Urogynaecology and pelvic floor services.

She qualified from Newcastle University in 2009, completing her training in Yorkshire and London and has experience of working in many tertiary hospitals. In addition,  she has completed a fellowship at Imperial College, where she undertook research on bladder pain and innovative treatments for overactive bladder.

Ms Patel has several publications in the field and has presented nationally and internationally. She has experience of medical and surgical management of urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, bladder pain, recurrent urinary tract infections and birth trauma. She is passionate about prevention and treatment of birth trauma and providing patient centred holistic care.
