Dermatology is the medical speciality concerned with skin, hair and nails and their various conditions. It’s a broad field which includes skin conditions such as eczema, dermatosis, psoriasis, acne, moles and warts as well as various skin cancers and cosmetic procedures to improve the aesthetic appearance of the skin.

While many dermalogical conditions are common, without significant treatment, they can be extremely debilitating. Our consultant dermatologist can offer convenient appointments for a range of conditions, including:

  • acne
  • rosacea
  • chronic skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema
  • perimenopausal and menopausal skin
  • nail problems or infections
  • skin allergies or sensitivities
  • hair loss

Dr Rao also undertakes minor operative procedures such as biopsies, mole and skin tag removals, cryosurgery, Botulinum toxin injections for excessive sweating, steroid injection for alopecia, scar and keloids (firm, raise and often shiny scars that grow significantly larger than the original skin injury).

The first step for any patient is usually an initial consultation. Unless your GP or insurer has told you otherwise, you should book your first appointment with our dermatology consultant, Dr Rao.
