*NEW SERVICE OFFERED*

Marta has begun to offer Percuatneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS). What is this?

  • PTNS is a form of treatment which is called neuromodulation. It is a minimally invasive procedure carried out in an outpatient setting.
  • The sacral plexus of nerves is responsible for regulating both bladder and bowel function; stimulation of these nerves can help to improve bladder and bowel problems.
  • Problems that PTNS can help are overactive bladder symptoms (such as needing to rush to the toilet to pass urine, frequently passing urine and waking up at night to go to the toilet) and fecal incontinence

Other services offered:

  • Urinary incontinence assessment.
  • Urge and stress urinary incontinence, conservative management including medication.
  • Conservative management of vaginal prolapse.
  • Vaginal pessary management including ring pessaries, Gelhorn pessaries, cubs and other type of pessaries depending on prolapse assessment.
  • Vaginal atrophy management.
  • Conservative management of recurrent urinary tract infection.
  • Clean intermittent self-catheterisation teaching.
